Subject: HOUSTON
TAXPAYERS ARE BEING SET UP TO BE SHORT CHANGED AGAIN
Date: Fri,
9 Jul 2004 21:12:53 -0500
The Sports
Authority must have tricked voters when they promised we would
never have to pay a single dime for these bonds.
Suckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If sales tax collections are skyrocketing, and the Sports Authority
still must try and refinance the crushing taxpayer-backed debt,
why is the City subordinating taxpayers protected position
in favor of some wealthy east coast bond traders?
Mayor Lee. P. Brown certainly was generous when this deal
was cut, now Houstonians are being asked to kiss this asset goodbye.
Who's watching out for whom?
Any council member who votes for this, and when there is a default,
each should be held personally accountable.
