IS TODAY'S "SMART GROWTH" DOGMA, CENTERED AROUND METRO'S "TRANSIT BACKBONE" AND HOUSTON'S CENTRAL PLANNER'S PROPOSED TOD'S AKIN TO WHAT THE MARXIST LYSENKOISM WAS TO SOVIET AGRICULTURE?

Recently, a long-forgotten term, "LYSENKOISM" was used in a scientific journal.

It caused me to reflect on how Houston's leaders seem to have been so deeply influenced by the Socialist "Smart Growth" advocates, reinforced by the Leftist-biased media, and to where they have adopted a pro-urban rail lemming behavior. All to the detriment of the taxpayers.

"Smart Growth" is merely where the government just stops allowing single-family home development, and forces citizens to occupy apartments near a tram. The tram is not a "transit option." METRO already has announced that they will be forcing many bus riders onto the rail seemingly as a ploy to boost the head count so as to boast "acceptance" by Houstonians. Eventually, only the Limousine Liberals and the Plutocracy will be allowed cars in the city.

This is typical for Socialist European cities or New York City, but we are in Houston. They want Houston to be more like Leningrad, Paris or New York City. Some of them would replicate Ho Chi Min City if they could.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat the failures and suffer preventable calamities.
