Subject:
HOUSTONIANS WILL SUFFER EACH DAY AT THE HANDS OF UNCARING METRO BUREAUCRATS
Date:

Notice how the unelected, unaccountable METRO bureaucrats don't give a rats back side about inconveniencing the poor and minority, transit dependent riders so that METRO can artificially boost boondoggle rail ridership (without any significant increase in fare box revenue).

Let's take METRO's own farcical fabricated forecast of 36,000 boarding's (18,000 round trip riders of which purportedly 16,000 are somehow classified as commuters) per day number. Say, 1/2 are bus riders "forced" to ride the Tram who all must lose at least one extra hour dealing with the Main Street system (a "Best Case" scenario, assuming no additional lost time from car collisions, minor street flooding the Tram can not ford, or equipment failure which will interrupt the entire system, which would then typically force METRORail to rescue the passengers with busses).

Therefore, there very well will be 9,000 bus riders, who would not have chosen the Main Street Tram as their "Transit Option" if given a choice, who will then unwillingly be forced to suffer about two extra lost man-hours per weekday. Even at the current minimum wage rate of $5.15/hour, that would conservatively cost transit dependent system users well over $23 million (9,000 daily weekday, transit dependent riders X 2 hours each day X $5.15 (DOL Minimum Wage Rate) X 5 days per week X 50 weeks per year = $23,175,000.00) more in wasted time as a direct result of this unwise policy decision made by unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats at METRO.

Clearly, the once federally protected Civil Rights of the poor and minority, bus transit dependent riders have been ignored so as to promote this Main Street Tram system. Where is the outrage?
