Subject: HOUSTON'S
IMAGE HAS GONE FROM GLORIOUS TO GHASTLY
Date: Thu, 22 Apr 2004 08:57:58 -0500
In 1965 Houston
boasted the "8th Wonder of the World" with the first
domed stadium.
In 1969, in one of mankind's greatest achievements, the
first transmission from the moon was to HOUSTON, notifying mission
control that the Eagle has landed.
In 1970, Apollo 13 commander Jim Lovell spoke the immortal words
"Houston...we have a problem" which began one
of our nations greatest moments of courage and resourcefulness.
After six years of the Lee. P. Brown administration, which
enabled METRO to abuse the taxpayers with the Main Street Demented
"Demolition Derby," Houston has now earned the
dubious distinction of becoming the undisputed Light Rail
accident capital of the world. METRORail is the "9th
Wonder of the World" and it is a low water mark. Houston's
image has gone from Glorious to Ghastly.
